BUDVILLE Budville Service Station • While the business is no longer open, this New Mexico town was named for H.N. "Bud" Rice who had a an auto wrecking/towing service here for many years. He began the business in 1928. It was the only service between Albuquerque and Grants, so if something happened to your car in this area, it was Bud or his wife Flossie, who came to help you out. Sadly, Bud was murdered in a 1967 hold-up. Flossie continued to run the service station until 1979.
